Movements for Life

An 8-week guided course to build life-based strength and confidence.

Maybe you’ve started thinking about movement differently as you get older. Less about exercise for its own sake, and more about staying capable, curious and confident?

You want to be the kind of person who can keep:

  • Helping a friend carry something awkward

  • Doing all the things you love - like gardening, walking your dog, running.

  • Saying “yes” when life asks something physical of you

Movements for Life gives you the knowledge, skills and support to build practical strength and move in ways you haven’t for years - in a way that feels playful, adaptable and sustainable.

Weekly live coaching + Q&A, expert guests, and pre-recorded movement library.

What is Movements for Life?

Join Gill & Andrew for an 8-week course designed to help you move with more confidence in the real world, not just in controlled settings.

It focuses on the in-between movements that often get overlooked: balance, rolling, getting up and down, wobbling, reacting… the things that matter when life doesn’t go to plan.

Through life-based challenges, you’ll build confidence in these movements in a way that feels engaging and practical, rather than repetitive or prescriptive.

Over time, you start to see opportunities everywhere. So that when you next stumble, you’ll know what to do!

Why we made this course

This is the course we’ve been wanting to create for years, it combines everything we’ve learnt through creating WildStrong and Nature Moves. It’s playful and creative but also gives structured ideas for progressing over time.

For many of us, there’s a gap between being strong and feeling capable in real life. Where Strong for Life works to build up fundamental strength through progressive strength and impact - Movements for Life fills in all the gaps.

With that foundation, you can make meaningful improvements at any age or stage - not just in how you move, but in how you respond when things are a bit unpredictable.

If you’ve been hoping to join our in-person course but the dates have never quite lines up, this is a great place to start!

What you’ll learn

  • Why you need exploratory movement everyday

  • How weave play and creativity into your life

  • How to challenge your balance in different environments

  • How to get and up and down creatively and with ease

  • How to roll with confidence in ways that work for you and your setting

  • How to respond when things go wrong

  • How to use challenges to develop your movement skills.

  • Ideas for how to build in play and creativity as we well as ideas for how to formally progress.

“There’s so much thought behind every movement. It’s not just ‘do this exercise,’ it’s why it matters, how to adapt it, what to notice. I felt like I was learning a new language with my body.”
Carol, 53

Frequently Asked Questions

Read the FAQs, if you have any concerns before booking, please do send us an email. We’d love to hear from you.

  • If you’d like a detailed breakdown of how the course works, what the weeks look like, how the support and feedback works - watch this Q&A we ran

  • That’s not a problem.

All sessions will be recorded, so you can catch up in your own time.

The course starts on June 2nd and runs for 8 weeks. The weekly live calls will be Tuesdays at either 9:30am and 8pm (GMT).

The live calls are there if you want the interaction and support, but the course is designed so you can still get a lot from it even if you’re working through it more flexibly.

  • When we talk about capabilities, we’re not just talking about strength in isolation.

We’re talking about what you can actually do with your body - practical strength and skills.

Things like getting up and down from the floor, carrying something awkward, moving across uneven ground, balancing, reaching, twisting, or reacting when something doesn’t go to plan.

It’s the kind of movement that shows up in everyday life.

This course is about building more options. So instead of relying on one way of moving, you have a range of ways to solve whatever situation you find yourself in.

  • Yes - absolutely.

This course isn’t about being fit or strong before you start. It’s about building those things in a way that feels manageable and relevant to your life.

Everything we do can be adapted. You’ll be encouraged to work at a level that feels appropriate for you, and to build up gradually.

In many ways, this course works best for people who don’t feel like they fit into traditional fitness spaces. That said, we do have some prerequistes:

    • Can confidently get up and down from the ground unaided.

    • Have some recent exercise history

    • This first round is not suitable for anyone with osteoporosis or pre-existing conditions unless we’ve worked with you already or we’ve talked to your physio or GP.

  • No, but we do touch on rolling and fall resilience.

You’ll have follow-along videos, clear written guidance, and ongoing support (weekly live Q&As and the online forum) so you always know what to do next.

  • Sometimes, but not always.

Some sessions will feel more like strength work, but others will feel slower, more exploratory and playful, and a bit different from what you might expect from a “workout.”

We aim to help you move better, feel more confident, and build skills that carry over into everyday life.

  • Strong for Life focuses on building strength and confidence through a structured, progressive programme. It's the most prescriptive course we offer and has a relatively narrow focus - to build bone density and confidence.

Movements for Life builds on that.

It’s where we start to take that strength and use it in more varied, less predictable situations - the kind you find in everyday life.

There’s less focus on sets and reps, and more focus on movement, problem-solving, and adapting to different environments.

You don’t need to have done Strong for Life first, but if you have, this is the natural next step.

  • Yes - as this is our first cohort we ask that you:

    • Can confidently get up and down from the ground unaided.

    • Have some recent exercise history

    • This first round is not suitable for anyone with osteoporosis or pre-existing conditions unless we’ve worked with you already or we’ve talked to your physio or GP.

  • For this first round, no — unless we’ve worked with you directly.

We’ll expand this in future versions.

  • We get it, it’s easy to start strong and then lose momentum. That’s why this course is built around connection and accountability.

You’ll join a live call every week (including guest sessions), get access to a private student forum, and have ongoing support between sessions.

This isn’t a “buy it and disappear” programme, we’ll be learning, training, and checking in together every week.
