Introducing our Movements for Life Workshop

One of pieces of feedback we’ve received has been from people who are interested in our Level 1 course but can’t commit to two weekends.

On the back of that and wanting something that we could convince our parents to join in on, we developed a 1 day Movements for Life Workshop.

We ran our first workshop this month - it was a really fun and movement packed day.

We kept the group small so that we had time to get into some big chats and spend time getting into some movement patterns and answering questions.

Here’s what it looked like:

  • Morning Session - Exploratory Movement & Daily Movements

We start with an exploratory movement session – here we play around with falling and getting up from the ground.

Then head in for a seminar on daily movement, taking time to look at different movement theories and teachings (from strength training to daily movement to elements of parkour and gymnastics).

Then it’s back outside to try out and troubleshoot some of the movements we’ve just covered.

  • LUNCH time! We have a delicious lunch and natter and some coffee.

  • Afternoon Session - Movement "rules of thumb"

In the afternoon we spend time looking at general “rules of thumb” for what makes a movement useful for our daily life. As well as how we think critically about our own movement selection to help us get stronger, more capable and confident.

Then we’re back out in the woods to play around with some of the movement concepts.

  • Adventure Run

We finish off the day with our signature Adventure Run – a scramble through the woodland with partners, encountering objects and playing around with how to get over, under, through them or simply picking them up and moving them out of the way.

We’ll be adding more dates soon for September - if you want to be the first to know, sign up for our mailing list.
