Is this my best side?

We have two sides and we need to use them both, no matter how crappy one of them feels.

If we weave in little movements everyday on both sides, we’ll find that when it comes to doing larger movements on both sides (throwing, vaulting, hitting a ball) they will feel less odd. And we can take to them more easily.

We’ve run a few vaulting workshops recently and almost everyone has a pronounced off side when it comes to jumping.

At the professional sports level this all the more extreme. We see golfers suffer chronic back pain from a career or constant twisting on one side, or rowers breaking ribs from the muscle disparity.

There is also something about expanding our neuroplasicity by doing movements that take our brains a moment to catch up with.

So next time you’re hoovering or brushing your teeth try doing it on the other side 🙃
