Trauma informed movement coaching

Thank you to everyone who joined our recent webinar with Lorraine from Edinburgh Community Yoga.

We explored how trauma, stress, and lived experience shape our bodies and our communities, and how yoga and mindful movement can support healing and resilience.

Themes we covered:

  • The body holds the story: Stress and trauma often show up physically before we have words for them. Movement practices can create a safe space to reconnect.

  • Beyond technique: It isn’t about achieving “perfect poses,” but about using yoga as a tool for self-regulation, compassion, and belonging.

  • Community matters: Healing is not just individual, supportive spaces help reduce stigma, isolation, and strengthen resilience.

  • Practical approaches: Simple breathing, grounding, and mindful movement practices can be powerful entry points for people with different needs and backgrounds.
