Welcoming a New WildStrong Coach: Helen

We’re really pleased to welcome Helen Singleton into the WildStrong coaching community. It’s always special to work with people who bring genuine warmth, curiosity and care to what they do, and Helen has that in abundance. Seeing new coaches take what they’ve learned and start shaping it into something of their own is one of the most rewarding parts of this work - and we’re excited to see how Helen’s journey unfolds, the communities she creates, and the people she’ll support through outdoor movement in the years ahead.

Here’s more about Helen in her own words:

My background is in Physiotherapy which I‘ve practiced for over 25 years across a wide range of settings in the UK and abroad. I am also a Pilates instructor, running 6 classes a week and I love getting people moving and becoming stronger and more flexible. The age range in my classes spans from people in their 20’s to those in their 80’s, and it’s always inspiring to see such a shared commitment to maintaining movement and living well at every stage of life.

I’ve been looking to deliver a different style of group focusing more on strength, but hadn’t quite found the right fit until I discovered WildStrong. I love the ethos of building strength and confidence outdoors, away from the sometimes intimidating environment of a gym. I completed the WildStrong coaching course earlier this year in Kingsbarns, Fife – fortunately with less need for waterproofs than expected! It was an excellent course and I gained valuable insights into a variety of coaching approaches. I also lecture in an Acupuncture college and I have taken many lessons back to my teaching there.

Awareness of how to age well is so much in the media now and I hope to be able to help people achieve the goals of maintaining movement, balance and flexibility but crucially - strength by being a WildStrong coach. My background will help me adjust the exercises to individual needs but the main aim is to have fun whilst exercising with a group of like minded people.

Groups will be based in Beverley and Cherry Burton and yes – all outside!
