Welcoming a New WildStrong Coach: Mary
We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Mary Sroka into the WildStrong coaching community. It’s always a real pleasure to support people who bring such warmth, curiosity and care into their work with others, and Mary does that in spades. Watching new coaches take what they’ve learned and begin shaping something that’s their own is one of the best parts of what we do — and we can’t wait to see how Mary’s work grows, the communities she builds, and the many people who’ll benefit from moving outdoors with her in the years ahead.
Here’s more about Mary in her own words:
!’ve always felt happiest when I’m moving outdoors, noticing the seasons shift here in the Cotswolds. I’m a keen leisure rider with my Icelandic horse, and I love walking, kayaking and cycling with family and friends. I’m an extrovert and a bit of a joy-seeker — for me, life really is for living. If I can be outside, moving with others, that feels like a little piece of everyday magic
As a coach I thrive through helping others clarify what they want to achieve and building their confidence that they can do it - whether that's a new movement skill in a group class, or working through the steps for a major life or career transition in a 1:1 coaching session.
I first discovered Wildstrong on Instagram and felt an instant connection to the work Gill and Andrew are doing — it’s work that helps people live better. There wasn’t a class near me, so I persuaded my sister to join me at the closest one we could find. I loved it… and a seed was planted. Could I learn how to teach joyful, playful outdoor movement too?
After a little mulling (and a few nerves — I’m not naturally sporty, and anyone who knows me will happily share a clumsy story!), I booked onto the October ’25 coaching weekend in the Peaks. I wondered if I’d really be able to show others how to move — but those doubts disappeared the moment I arrived at Ilam Hall. It was such a beautiful place, and the welcome was so warm.
The weekend was everything I hoped for: kind, thoughtful facilitation from Gill and Andrew, an incredible group of people to learn with, and whilst there was a lot to learn it was so much fun. I left feeling inspired, capable, and excited. By the end of 2025, I was delighted to gain my Wildstrong coaching certification.
Since then, I’ve been gathering kit, practising with friends and family. I've recently been running my first classes with a wonderful group who have been experiencing the fun of outdoor movement come rain or shine with smiles on their faces! I'll be opening up more sessions to the in spring ’26 Here's the waitlist if you’d like to be first to hear about these.
I spend time outside every single day, whatever the weather. Being connected to nature has helped me stay well — physically and mentally — make new friends, feel connected to my community, and have wonderful experiences. These are such vital things for happiness and in a modern society they aren't always easily accessible to all - I'd like to help change that.
My goal is to help others find that same joy in simple, everyday movement so they can live well and move freely. And for anyone unsure how to begin, I also offer 1:1 coaching — supporting people to clarify their goals and take confident steps towards them. Let me help you 'Find your path in the wild.' You’re welcome to try a free coaching session, either in person or remotely
