Mind The Gap: How can we level the playing field in the wellbeing and fitness industry?

We really enjoyed our Instagram Live with WildStrong’s Head Coach Andrew Telfer MPH and Dr Zoe Watson from @wellgood_wellbeing.

Filmed on Instagram Live in Feb 2023.

We discussed what falls through the gaps of the current wellbeing and fitness industry.

👉Can we do a better job of making health and wellbeing accessible to all?

👉The problems with the idea of “fitness”

👉How can make movement more accessible to more people - without being so focused on exercise or fitness

👉 What are the barriers to participation?

Do you have anything to add? We’ll pick up in it next time. Comment below 👇

Here’s a bit more about Zoe and Andrew:

Wellgood Wellbeing is a bullish*t free wellbeing membership platform, for people who are fed up with the un-realistic and confusing ideals peddled by the “wellness” industry. It’s for people who are looking to find a place where they can look after and learn about their mental and physical health in a judgement-free setting. Run by GP Dr Zoe Watson, Wellgood Wellbeing is packed to the rafters with resources to help you better understand and care for every aspect of your health in a way that feels fun, light-hearted and accessible to all.

Andrew Telfer is our head coach, he spent 17 years in the fitness industry and holds a Masters in Public Health. Andrew says “..there is too much emphasis on working out alone and the collection of arbitrary data. WildStrong is the opportunity to embed exercise in a community setting, with tangible benefits, creating a peer-lead, distributed model of health practice.”

This is the first of few long form discussions we have in the pipeline.
